Our Pupil Leadership Team (PLT) is a group of pupils who represent their fellow students across the school, and who work together to make improvements to our school and their wider world.
The PLT consists of:
- Head Girl
- Head Boy
- Deputy Head Girl
- Deputy Head Boy
- Leadership Team members (currently there are four, but we are expanding!)
Why do we have a Pupil Leadership Team?
The Pupil Leadership Team is there to provide support to their fellow students, and to be the voice of the child at Bluebell Park. They represent the views of the pupils in our school and make suggestions that will help us to improve our school, by sharing their thoughts around their daily lived experience at Bluebell Park.
They are encouraged to raise and discuss issues that matter most to our pupils, and they have opportunities to meet regularly to discuss these issues.
They may also take part in regional events, where they will represent our school and our pupils.
What does the PLT do?
Pupil Leadership Team leads on several areas, consisting of:
- Attending meetings and events, where school issues will be raised and discussed, with suggestion being made that will help to improve areas within school or ideas for upcoming events, etc.
- School events, which will be a focus at key times within the year and roles, responsibilities and resources that are needed will be discussed when considering the organisation of these important events. School events may include, Prom (Post-16), themed enrichment weeks, annual events (such as Easter, Christmas, Diwali, Lunar New Year, etc. Each year our Pupil Leadership Team takes part in an annual event at Liverpool Town Hall with other SLD schools from across Merseyside. You will often see out Pupil Leadership Team offering support at Parent’s Evenings, Coffee morning events, etc and they will always be happy to chat with you and answer your questions if you see them around school.
- School projects, such as playground equipment, reading projects, curriculum projects, fundraising projects, Team Enterprise projects, etc. Pupils will discuss ideas and make suggestions which will then be put into action with the support of key school staff.
