Welcome to Bluebell Park Post 16 Provision
Bluebell Park’s Post -16 provision educates and supports students aged sixteen to nineteen years old who have a range of additional needs including severe learning difficulties, complex learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties.
Our vision for Post 16 is to nurture and develop students’ potential and prepare them with vital skills for their next steps in education and life beyond school. To do this we offer a range of accredited courses from Open Awards and ASDAN, to Functional Skills, Enrichment skills, Life skills and Work-related skills. All students also participate in creative sessions, sport & leisure sessions, and many students take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Work experience is available to Post-16 pupils and is matched as closely as possible to their individual interests and areas of strength. This links with the Post-16 curriculum to help our students to achieve their individual outcomes and aspirations for the future with as much independence as possible.
Post-16 pupils are working with ‘Careers Connect’ to look at options for the future, thinking about their own aspirations and what they want to do when they leave school. Pupils also work with our school job coach to develop their work-related skills.
Through a carefully structured and personalised curriculum, we focus on four key areas of preparation for adulthood: further education and training, employment pathways, independent living skills, and active participation in the wider community. Learning is not limited to lesson times – opportunities to develop their social skills, communication and independence are planned into break times, lunch times and during access to the local community.
Our aim is to support pupils to be the best versions of themselves, whilst being confident members of the community and have aspirations for themselves that they will be proud to achieve when they leave us.
